I can't cook. I can't. I ordered this cooking book one week ago and left it on my shelf for days..Once I got paid I went shopping and bought majority of groceries from the cookbook to give them a try. I did two recipes the mandarin orange salad (no pic ) & the Bbq Ribs. The ribs took about 5hrs to make but by the time they were done I ate it all! Stomach ache and all - the ribs I made fell - let me be clear the meat FELL OFF THE BONES! I have never had ribs do that before even if I eat at Applebees they never fall off the bone. The meat of the ribs were fully cooked, tender, JUICY, and sweet.I plan to make these ribs for thanksgiving which is next week and I know my family is gonna eat every last drop like I did haha.Ladies & Gents give her cookbook a try, the steps are eassssyy to follow - the ingredients are simple yet you'd think you would need more but you don't. I believe for the ribs I only used brown sugar, salt & pepper, onions, few seasonings, bbq sauce and a few other things but it was simple to prepare & make.In this selection of her books she also has drinks for parties to make & desserts including breakfast and recipes to make with the kids. It also has a few pages with Step Curry and her talking about how they met.. how he supported her goals..talks about God & talks about her kids.Overall I am pleased I bought this recipe book because to me the ribs were spectacular the salad was beautifully made yet delicious.Thank you Ayesha for making this cookbook it's about to go down in my kitchen now!Oh yeah everything in the cookbook is made by scratch! Which is a bonus.
I have made 3 recipes from this book since I bought it and I have to say I love them all! I generally put my own spin on them but the original is just as good! The recipes are easy to follow, I enjoyed the story/Q&A with the Currys, and all of the photos! I am not sorry about buying this book!
I can't cook so I look for good easy cookbooks to get me started. Ayesha's book is great. She has a lot if recipes and they all take about 30mins to make. Who doesn't love quick meal? She not only includes recipes but also pics of her family, some interviews, and an interview she gave to her daughter. Very adorable.
I have to admit that this is one of the best cookbooks I have invested in. I have all the other popular named ones (Chrissy Teigen, Sweetie Pie, etc) but this is by far one of my favorites. She wrote this book with the beginner in mind. Its funny, and kid friendly. When I saw the Jamaican recipes I just knew I scored lol. I think this book is great for the beginner and more advance unbiased cooks.Add on: I did her mac and cheese for thanksgiving and OMG it was heavenly, everyone enjoyed it.
This book has introduced me to cooking and I ADORE it. Since buying it two weeks ago, I have been nonstop cooking from it, with favorites being the brown sugar chicken (the best chicken I've ever had), the ahi tuna dish, the chewy chocolate-chip cookies, the cornbread, and the pesto pasta (photos attached). As a beginner, this cookbook is simple, fresh, easy to follow, and the stories Ayesha tells of how she discovered each recipe and how beloved it is in her family is so endearing. I'm grateful to her for kicking-off my love for cooking and knowing what it's in my food and how it's prepared. This is a must-get.
This was a gift for my mom, who is a big Ayesha Curry fan (for some reason lol). We were unable to visit her pop-up restaurant in San Francisco over the Summer so this was a consolation gift of sorts. By her account, she really loves it. My only comment is that I like the vibrant cover and the price was reasonable unlike some celebrity cook books.
I just love Ayesha Curry... what can I say? She's a supportive wife, great mother, and she just seems REAL! I love watching her cook, so naturally I had to order this to stir things up in the kitchen. (ahhhh, see what I did there?) ;-P LOLI have to tell you though, the first recipe I made from this book was her butter coffee... What? Don't judge me, that's all the readily available ingredients I had at that time! Now, she does warn you about putting hot coffee in the blender, but I had just purchased a new Ninja blender (also off Amazon, whoop-whoop!!) and the cover of the blender doesn't have the traditional removable plastic piece for the drop hole like most blenders do. It just has the plastic cover over the spout. So I popped the cover up a bit so it wasn't snapped in securely, you know, to let the steam off, held a towel over the opening just in case and Boyyyyyyy... I turned that sucker on and (in my Kevin Hart voice) I WASN'T READYYYYY!!! My counter had more coffee than I had in my cup.Anyway, lesson learned. Just go to Starbucks.
I have a huge cookbook collection. I'm always looking for new recipes. I know there are tons of recipes on the internet, but I like having the actual book in my hand. I saw the author of The Seasoned Life: Food, Family, Faith, and the Joy of Eating Well, by Curry, Ayesha on the recent Rachael Ray Show. I watched them cook several of the recipes together and wanted the book. I like recipes that call for ingredients you already have in your home. This book is just that. It also gives you ideas as to how to use the leftovers. This is great for me, as my family will not eat reheated leftovers. I have already cooked several things from this book and my family has loved them.
